Austin's Butterfly

Austin's butterfly was such an interesting video to take in for so many reasons.  The first thing that I loved is how the students were shown hoe to critique effectively.  That when we critique another person we should be kind, helpful and specific about our suggestions.  The first picture is really showing where most students would start when drawing a butterfly.  Each stage of Austin's improvements were based on the feed back he received from his classmates.  This video also shows the value of drafts and trying again.  That Austin might have loved his first drawing but by the end the butterfly that he drew was worlds apart from the start.

I think this is a great example for students to see how there thoughtful specific critique can really effect another person.  I would like to show this video and apply this to a lesson in my future as a teacher.
