Technology in the Classroom
Technology in the classroom seems like a given and not an option in my opinion. Whether a teacher is comfortable with technology or not it is part of our everyday world and exposing children to any technology early can be a wonderful thing. I see myself on a scale of 1 to 10, 10 being the best, most comfortable with technology at an 8. I have always been able to quickly pick up on new technology and teach myself what I need to know or figure out how to work the specific item.
One of the ways I feel I can keep up on new technology is to just be around my own kids who can show and teach what's new and what is "cool". This will allow me as a teacher to in incorporate technology into lessons that my students really like. During my observation hours I was able to be in a second grade classroom that had students designing collages using their chrome books. Students then had to do a journal entry regarding the piece they designed. It was a great way to bring in technology for a lesson but not let it take over the classroom.
